Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Sports Team Viewer Android application and the sportsteamviewer.com service (together, the “Service”) collect, use, and share information. The Service lets an operator film a live sports game with an on-screen scoreboard overlay, control that scoreboard from a web browser, and optionally broadcast or upload the footage to the Sports Team Viewer YouTube channel.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by the Sports Team Viewer team (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact info@sportsteamviewer.com.
2. Information we collect
- Video and audio you record. The app uses your device camera and (if you grant the permission) microphone to record the game. The scoreboard overlay is composited into the video on your device.
- Device information. When a recording device is enrolled to upload footage, the app sends basic device details to our server — brand, model, Android version, app version, and total storage — together with the device’s network (IP) address, so an administrator can recognise and authorise it.
- Game data. Scores, team names, team logos you upload, clock and period state, and game event history are stored on our server so the recorder, the browser controller, and spectators stay in sync.
- Account information (web controller). If you sign in to the web controller, we store your email address and sign-in records to operate your account.
- Operational logs. Our server keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and reliability.
The Android app does not require you to create an account on the device, and it does not collect contacts, location, or advertising identifiers.
3. How recordings are stored and shared
- Recordings are saved locally on your device (in the device’s Movies folder).
- If you choose to stream live or upload a recording, the video is sent directly from your device to YouTube and published to the single Sports Team Viewer YouTube channel. The video does not pass through our own server — our server only brokers the YouTube upload/stream session.
- Once footage is on YouTube, Google’s handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
4. How we use information
- To provide the recording, scoreboard, streaming, and upload features.
- To synchronise game state across devices and spectators.
- To authorise and manage recording devices, and to revoke lost or stolen ones.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Google / YouTube API services
Uploading and streaming use Google’s YouTube APIs under the channel owner’s authorisation. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Data retention
Game data, account information, and device records are kept for as long as needed to run the Service or as required by law. Local recordings remain on your device until you delete them. You can ask us to delete your account or device records using the contact below; to request removal of a published video, use our video removal request form.
7. Children
The Service is intended for use by team operators and organisers and is not directed to children under 13. Note that games being filmed may include minors as participants; operators are responsible for obtaining any consents required to film and publish such footage (see our Terms & Conditions).
8. Your choices
- You can deny the microphone permission; the app will record video only.
- You control whether any footage is streamed or uploaded — it is never automatic.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data via the contact below; to remove a published video, use our video removal request form.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
